    S-40 Asphaltic Primer

S-40, when installed as a system with S-41and S-45, forms an acid, alkali and water-resistant barrier as well as a flexible membrane between Summitville floor brick and concrete substrates. S-40 is a penetrating, fast-drying liquid containing asphalt and a suitable solvent. No chemical action will take place when the dry film is immersed for five days at 75°F in each of the following solutions: 1% Sulfuric Acid, 5% Sodium Hydroxide, 5% Potassium Hydroxide, Water saturated with H2S. The S-40/41/45 system is recommended for use as an impervious membrane under chemical resistant brick in corrosive environments such as flooring, walls, sumps, trenches, secondary containment barriers, concrete tanks, and manholes in steel, chemical, pulp, paper and refining industry applications. It protects concrete against highly corrosive chemical attacks and isolates brick from structural movement of the concrete. The S-40, 41, 45 system is not intended for use as an uncovered membrane as it can be affected by thermal and/or mechanical damage if not protected by brick coverings. The S-40, 41, 45 system is not recommended for use with organic solvents, some organic acids and strong oxidizers.

    S-41 Corrosion Resistant Membrane

S-41, when installed as a system with S-40 and S-45, forms an acid, alkali and water-resistant barrier as well as a flexible mem¬brane between Summitville floor brick and concrete substrates. S-41 is a hot melt oxidized asphaltic compound free from fillers or other adulterants. S-41 contains no coal tar, phenol or naval store products. S-41 will not be attacked when immersed for 5 days at 75°F in each of the following solutions: 1% Sulfuric Acid, 5% Sodium Hydroxide, 5% Potassium Hydroxide, Water saturated with H²S, For full testing information, see chemical resistance reference chart in technical data sheet. S-45 Textile Glass Cloth

S-45 is an asphalt-impregnated, open mesh woven glass cloth made from inorganic glass fibers and lightly covered with a bitumi¬nous coating. This coating is compatible with high-grade oxidized asphaltic compounds, like S-41 Corrosion Resistant Membrane. S-45's open meshes are not completely closed by the bituminous coating. This allows sufficient porosity to permit successive applications of the hot melt asphaltic compound to interlock. S-45 provides additional structural reinforcement in corners, trenches, movement joints or areas where the substrate changes direction or is otherwise structurally weak.

S-3000 One Step Crack Isolation/Anti Fracture Mortar

S-3000 One Step flexible mortar is a high quality multi-purpose thin set mortar formulated with special powdered latex designed to provide flexibility, superior bond strength, freeze-thaw resistance, impact resistance and reduced water absorption. The non-reemulsifying resin system in One Step flexible mortar also provides excellent workability. One Step meets or exceeds ANSI A118.1, A118.4 and A118.11. One Step flexible thin setting latex mortar is recommended for setting all types of ceramic tile, marbles, slate and granite and a 1/8” (3mm) horizontal crack isolating membrane in a single application. One Step flexible mortar is recommended for interior and exterior floor applications.

S-9000 Waterproof and Crack Isolation Liquid Membrane

S-9000 is an easy to apply liquid membrane that can be used for crack isolation and/or waterproofing. S-9000 meets or exceeds the requirements of ANSI A118.10 and 118.12 for load bearing, bonded, waterproof membranes for thin-set ceramic tile and dimensional stone installations. S-9000 can be used vertically, horizontally, interior or exterior. S-9000 consists of a liquid polymer binder and a fiber mesh reinforcing fabric. It is easy to apply with a trowel, paint roller or brush. After proper installation and curing, ceramic tile can be installed over S-9000 with a Summitville latex modified mortar or epoxy mortar. S-9000, when properly applied and cured only increases the thickness of the floor installation approximately 20 mils or twenty thousandths of an inch. S-9000 is rated for Extra Heavy Traffic per ASTM C627/TCNA(Tile Council of North America). S-9000 is formulated with a special color indicator which lets the installer know when the system is cured and ready to re-coat or apply tile. In the liquid stage, S-9000 is light pink. S-9000 is orange/red in the cured state. S-9000 will bond to concrete, plywood, CBU, gypsum board, clean tile and stone surfaces. S-9000 contains no organic solvents or harsh fumes, is safe and non-flammable.

    USES:
